Welcome to the Dr Gadget website. Dr Gadget is a column that has been a part of the GPRA (GP Registrars Association) Australia eNewsletter since July 2008. As there are now a few articles gathered together it seemed sensible to create an archive and extend the number of stories. Dr Gadget will also soon be found in the new GP Compass magazine to be made available to pre-vocational doctors in Australia – as well as in his own section of the Aspen website.
The purpose of Dr Gadget – apart from reviewing tech toys that we all love – was to try and look at tech from a doctors perspective and find tools that may be useful to registrars and General Practitioners alike.
Dr Gadget is Richard Clement – a self-confessed gadget junkie and the resident propellerhead at Aspen Pharmacare Australia. His main responsibilities include developing the Aspen Pharmacare website – possibly Australia’s most popular corporate Pharma web presence. He virtually grew up in a pharmacy, is a qualified molecular biologist and spent many happy years harassing doctors in their rooms and was known more for talking about the latest tech than pharma products. Nothing much has changed since!
